We have submitted our first bid book.
On September 15, 2023, we completed the first stage of our efforts to obtain the title of European Capital of Culture 2029.
The day before, Dariusz Skrobol – the Mayor of Pszczyna, signed twenty-three copies of our applications, which were delivered today to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage by the head of the ESK office, Marta Wesołowska, and the Chairman of the Program Council, Pawel Jaworski.
So it’s time to express our gratitude to everyone without whom this The Land Of Dreams project wouldn’t be possible:
– The Program Board for their valuable insights, opinions, and guidance.
– All individuals and organizations that participated in consultations and shared their ideas through phone and email.
– The district authorities, the Marshal of the Voivodeship, neighboring cities, and partner cities who expressed their willingness to cooperate in organizing the ECoC.
– Candidate cities and European Capitals of Culture with whom we established contacts and who inspire and support us.
– The ECoC office team and the editorial team who transformed all the proposed ideas and suggestions into a wonderful story about the people and the land of dreams we aspire to.
– The city council members and the mayor of Pszczyna for their green light and support for this bold idea.
– Journalists and the media who warmly received the news of our candidacy and think highly of us in their reporting.
– Our competitors for this honorable title, for constructive discussions and the willingness to cooperate in the future.
– To all those who designed, printed, stitched, and bound our bid book
